What to Expect - Tips for Your Newborn Session
Updated: Aug 26
Hey Y'all! I wanted to share a few tips to help you prepare for your newborn session whether it's in studio or in your home. My goal is to ensure that your session goes as smoothly as possible for you and your new little bundle of JOY!
NUMBER (1) Prepare or Pack the essentials! Prepare/Pack extra diapers and wipes. We will likely use extras as we change outfits throughout the session.
NUMBER (2) Please have or bring a pacifier. It can be a HUGE help soothing the baby when settling between changing poses even if baby isn't normally taking the pacifier at home.
NUMBER (3) Mom & Dad please have/bring extra clothes. Please wear solid/neutral colored clothes (no patterns or bright colors)
NUMBER (4) Feed that baby! Be sure you feed the little one before your session or if it's in studio before you leave (or when you arrive if you have a longer drive to the studio). If baby has a full tummy that typically helps the session go great!
NUMBER (5) Dress baby in a diaper wrapped in a blanket or a sleeper sack that unzips easily. We are looking for something that is easy to undress baby and transition from one pose to the next.
NUMBER (6) Whether your are in studio or at home make sure you have/bring snacks and drinks for mom and dad. The session time can vary depending on the little one, so we want to make sure mom and dad don't get hangry :)
NUMBER (7) Bring food for baby. We are breastfeeding friendly, so no worries there!
Thank you for sharing your bundle of JOY with me! This is such a precious time and goes by so quickly!
