Hi, I'm Amanda Joy — the photographer behind New Joy Photography, a dedicated newborn photography studio in Gilmer, Texas. I serve families throughout Longview, Tyler, Mt. Pleasant, Gladewater, and the surrounding East Texas area, creating timeless, artistic images that capture the tiniest details of your baby's earliest days.
I became a mom and a photographer with the same heart. I know how quickly these moments pass, and I know what it means to want them preserved beautifully. Every session at New Joy is designed to feel calm, guided, and completely stress-free, so you can simply be present while I take care of everything else
Why I Do What I Do
Photography has been my passion since I was 12 years old. What started as a love for capturing moments has grown into over 25 years of professional experience including 7 years specializing exclusively in newborn and maternity photography.
I'm a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography, and I invest continually in advanced education to ensure every session meets the highest standards of artistry and safety. I hold a Newborn Safety Certificate from Kelly Brown one of the world's most respected newborn photography educators covering safe posing, prop safety, and newborn handling.
In 2025, I entered international photography competition and received two Silver Awards at the ICON International Photography Awards both in the newborn category competing against photographers from around the world. It was a humbling and exciting milestone, and a reflection of the care and craft I bring to every session.

Newborn specialist, not a generalist. Studio newborn photography is my primary focus and my greatest passion. I don't try to do everything. I've built my skills, my studio, and my entire workflow around giving newborn families the best possible experience.

A private, fully styled studio. Sessions take place in my dedicated newborn photography studio on a private 7-acre property in Gilmer, TX. Everything is provided from wraps, props, styling, and guided posing so you arrive with nothing but your baby and leave with a gallery full of images you'll treasure forever.

Newborn sessions are best reserved during pregnancy to guarantee your spot — most families book between 20 and 30 weeks. Last-minute openings do occasionally become available, so don't hesitate to reach out even if your baby has already arrived.
